I
do not assign daily or weekly homework, however students are encouraged
to read to and with their adults for around 20
minutes each night.
Several times a year, I do send home an at-home project for our current Science topic. This is meant to be completed by the child, with minimal help from parents. It should look like a first grader did the work! Students will present their assignments to the class and this will help me understand how well they know the concepts that we have learned. I give between 3 and 4 weeks for assignment completion, so there is plenty of time to complete the project.
