I believe that students learn and preform best when they are intrinsically motivated. I do not use clip charts or other visual behaviour systems to motivate students. I use Brag Tags to celebrate student success, both academic and behavioural, in the classroom. Students will earn brag tags that are a representation of their hard work. Not all students will receive a brag tag every day or even every week, which makes them even more special. There will be brag tags for special events and holidays that all students will receive in addition tot the ones that they can earn. Brag tags will be sent home on the very last day of the school year, but I have found that students LOVE to show their parents what they have earned when they visit the classroom!
